Post subject: Click tracking from landing pages
|
|
So I am IFraming an offer and this is my first time using P202 for this. Until now, I have been direct linking this offer and I am used to my clicks on my spy view matching up with my clicks (and leads) on the network.
This offer is on Primary Ads and they give me the option to view clicks that don;t have any leads associated with them. Ever since I launched my landing page I am not able to match up the real clicks from my spy view with the clicks on the network. Basically, the clicks don't show up and when I get leads the sub id isn't passing anymore.
I'm getting leads but the tracking on the network has stopped altogther...
Thanks,
Gabe

Ok so the SUBIDS aren't being recorded.
Is your iframe setup like this (exactly)? http://prosper202.com/scripts/iframe/

Hey Wes,
No actually I am using a different IFrame layout but it looks as though it should work. I am still getting leads (and credit for them) but yes, the Sub ID's have stopped coming through to the network.
Here's your IFrame source code...
<html>
<head>
<title>Title Goes Here</title>
</head>
<body style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" scroll="no">
<iframe src="http://redirect.tracking202.com/lp/XXXXXX" style="border: 0px; width: 100%; height:100%;"></iframe>
<script src="http://static.tracking202.com/lp/XXXXXX/landing.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
</body>
</html>
And here's mine...
<html>
<head>
<title>My Title</title>
<meta name="Description" content="%%lpgentoken%%">
<meta name="Keywords" content="%%lpgentoken%%">
</head>
<body>
<iframe src="http://mysite.com/tracking202/redirect/lp.php?lpip=XXXX" width="100%" height="1000" scrolling="off" frameborder="0" border="0">%%lpgentoken%%</iframe>
<script src="http://mysite.com/tracking202/static/landing.php?lpip=XXXX" type="text/javascript"></script>
</body>
</html>
Thank you very much.
Gabe

Hmm it looks fine to me, do you need the LPGEN token in the IFRAME between?
Is it not tracking ANY subids at all? or just only a few?, looks overall correct I couldn' see any bugs at first glance. if you CLEAR ur COOKIES, and then view ur cookies after loading the page does it COOKIE your browser, if you check your 'cookies'?
If its cooking it should normally work. the only thing I could think at this point is the LPGEN token between the OPEN AND CLOSE body tags.

Hey Wes,
I actually wound up *not* using LP Gen for this campaign since I am running it as a Placement Targeted campaign so I don't need to worry about QS stuff.
However, I am still IFraming though and this is where I am stuck. I do not have any keywords for this campaign, I am only bidding on domains (placements). My LP code is as follows now...
<html>
<head>
<title>My title</title>
</head>
<body style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" scroll="no">
<iframe src="http://mysite.com/tracking202/redirect/lp.php?lpip=XXXX" style="border: 0px; width: 100%; height:100%;"></iframe>
<script src="http://mysite.com/tracking202/static/landing.php?lpip=XXXX" type="text/javascript"></script>
</body>
</html>
As far as I can tell, this is the exact code listed in the Docs section. When I test the link, I see the click pass through on the Spy tab. However, the clicks are still not showing up on the network even though Google is showing the ads receiving clicks on the URL's I am targeting.
Has anyone had a problem with Google passing the {keyword} token on the Content network, specifically for placements?
FWIW, the tracking link I am using is...
http://mysite.com/index.html?t202id=XXXXX&t202kw={keyword}
Thanks,
Gabe

Looks like its correct, yeah that looks perfect. But here is the test, is it SHOWING THE OFFER? If it is showing the offer that means its going to the affiliate link correctly, and if so, the network just isn't showing the clicks.
it MAY be that the network is filtering out duplicate clicks from similar IP addresses. I know neverblueads does this and cxdigital.

Do you mean showing the offer on the landing page where the P202 code is? If that, then yeah, it SHOWS the offer just fine. The problem is I am getting clicks both on Google and in my Spy view but nothing on the network end. This offer is on Primary Ads. I have never had a problem with Primary Ads passing Sub ID's whether they are conversions or not. They let you see both leads and clicks without leads. The thing is, I never see any Sub ID info at all whether I get leads or not.
Every time I have setup an IFramed offer with P202 and run it on Primary Ads, the Sub ID info just quits coming through. I can direct link with no problems but once I setup an IFrame, everything grinds to a halt. Very strange and I have to say frustrating as well.
Lastly, I am not seeing any information at all being passed on Spy view for the {keyword}. Now, this is a placement targeted campaign and so I am not bidding on keywords at all but rather on domains. I have just been looking at the Referrer since that is essentially my keyword but I am wondering why Google isn't passing it? This is a less important issue but something I'd like your take on as well.
Thanks Wes.
Gabe

Ok here is another test, on the SPY VIEW, when u see hits coming in, is it showing the CLICK THROUGH (the blue buttons signaling that they clicked through on the right of the pause looking button)? If it shows the click through (should be 1 minute delayed to show this) it is working. If its not showing the ctr something is wrong, and we'll have to look at the lp, as the code here looks right but maybe the environment is messing it up.

This must be because the {keyword} hasn't been inserted into the DESTINATION URLs that were to be placed in the text-advertisement. Are you on the newest version of P202?
If you check the landing page, like on the SPY VIEW highlight your mouse over where they land, is the keyword being included in the URL? like when they come to your landing page it should be like
mydomain.com/landingpage.php?t202id=xxxx&t202kw=xxxx
if the t202kw is being left blank, it won't track on content network, this is normally a result of the {keyword} not being added to the tracking URLS

Yes, I am on the latest version. My tracking link is the same format I've used in the past. Namely, http://mysite.com/landingpage.html?t202id=XXXXX&t202kw={keyword}. When I have run keyword targeted campaigns, the keyword always appears in the keyword column in Spy View. This is no longer happening. It is simply blank.
I noticed that in your URL example, you had a .php extension. Does my LP need to be a php file? I don't remember reading about this. Otherwise, I think that's all I can think of so far...

Ok, well wondering if the landing page is showing the keyword in THE URL when the visitor comes in.
IE: highlighting your mouse over the (pause) looking blue button, in the SPY view, will show u the URL that the visitors are hitting. Is the keyword in the URL?
IF not it won't be tracked.
Go ahead and just make them .php file extensions, you can change them if needed though. Its up to you.
