All

I'm curious what my next step should be. I ran my first campaign yesterday and received 22,000 Impressions and 1 click. And that one click was from me.

3 of my 8 ad groups are triggering the impressions with a average pos of 2.7.

I'm using only content search. Exact Match

My Ad:

Vanessa Hudgens: Yes/No?

1-Minute Poll

Is Vanessa Hudgens a Good Singer?

www.TripleReview.com/Vanessa-Hudgens/

I'm split testing with another ad which i have "1 Minute Poll"

So what is my next step? Do I give up this campaign and start another, add more keywords, test different ads, etc.

Looking forward to your opinion

thx

Pat

Well you got the impressions, maybe the text-ad isn't relevant.

I'd start tweaking the text-ad.

You just need to get the CTR now!

Your results are not bad perce, you were running on content.

You get lots of impressions, and CTR is often horrible.

thanks for the replies.

Most of what I read is about the search network and I see now that the content search is a different animal.

So I guess the next logical question is when do you pull a content search campaign?

You should break down the testing as much as possible and when you've gotten to the point where it simply isn't producing positive URL even with tightly built adgroups, it's time to drop it.

Offer a freebie for the ad you're running on the content network. Clicks from the content network are SURFERS not people SEARCHING for something.

Think of Content click as someone walking thru a shopping mall Window Shopping as compared to someone entering a shop and asking the sales girl for a specific item.

Content traffic are people that are happy clicking and will click away just as readily as they click to visit your site.

An opt in list tells a person to STOP, give me your details, and you can be on your way to browse. I will check back with you another day.

3 months down the road, they might buy a recommendation from you :)
