I have been doing AM seriously for a few months now, but have only been using direct linking. My results have been vary mixed, and I have heard many times that direct linking is a very poor way of making a good profit.

Thus I have decided I am going to move on to creating landing pages, my biggest problem is I do not yet know much about creating WebPages or websites. I was wondering what others thought might be the best way to go about creating landing pages. Should I hire a web designer? and if so where is a good place to find one. Or should I get a web-building program such as DreamWeaver? Is DreamWeaver even a quality program? Or should I do all of the above? I would appreciate any advice.

Dreamweaver is good for people who don't know how to code themselves. You can definitely check out how much it would cost to hire someone to create a simple LP and split test everything.

John Chow also made a post about someone selling LP templates for cheap here: Review Post

You can also copy and paste someone elses' html, that is a fast way, not always looked upon the best way. But is the fastest way to do it.

Your good running an HTML tutorial, that'd be benefical and make them yourself, it will probably be the best in the long-term. Most of the BIG affiliates mock them up themselves.

If you have Fireworks then you should be able to whip out pages fairly quick. I found this plugin a few weeks ago that lets you export your design into a fully functional css site - SmartCSS. It takes a little while to learn the tags with the plugin, but it is a big time saver.

thanks for the advice guys. It sounds like you guys think its worth it to simply learn how to do code or getting others to male LP for me rather than buying a program to make one. I've dabbled very little in code myself, how long does it take to learn to be able to make a quality LP?

I will probably buy a few landing pages soon to just get started my feet wet using LP's and try to move on to creating my own if I see fit.

Thanks a lot guys and any other advice you may have would be appreciated.

That answer varies depending on the person. You got to understand there are two elements to creating LP. First is coding, second is design. Some people can do both but most people can only do one or the other and the mass majority will outsource it altogether.

It depends on if you have a passion on learning how to code, how fast you learn, and how good you are. The answer varies on a multitude of things, but more importantly, how complicated the coding is required for your LP. In most cases, basic html and css is more than enough for any basic LP plus design work.

Quality is also subjective. It all depends on your testing. Long story short, you should probably outsource the design for awhile until you get an idea of what kind of LP works for you and then from there, learn if you really want to do it yourself.
